Building a BRAMPTON for the Future
I love this City. It is where we became a family and started our life. The City allowed us to plant our roots and settle for the very first time in our lives.
Brampton is welcoming and continues to be a home to a vibrate community for all its residents. However, there’s been a downward trend in the City. We have seen an uptake in crime, traffic congestion, and the mass exit of those who grow up in B-Town.
We have become a bedroom community. Citizens go to work in other cities and come from work back to Brampton. There are very few jobs in Brampton. Brampton is facing challenges, because the Council is using the same methods to run the City, they used during a boom in Brampton. In desperation, they’re continuing to zone land without any mind to the future revenue source for Brampton. Taxes have gone up every year and this will not change unless we change the way we see the future of Brampton. SAME OLD, SAME OLD WILL NOT WORK ANYMORE.
This session in Council is very critical. WE NEED TO PIVOT. This City employs some of the best staff in the country, but those working for the City take their direction from the Council which is elected by the taxpayers. The vision the Council puts forward is the vision the City staff fulfill. We need to elect a Council that has the vision to direct the change needed to bring Brampton on track for success.
I will work on get Wards 9 & 10 on the priority list of Council. We will not lack resources or be left behind any longer. With Wards 9 & 10 will have a voice of strength and reason in Council.
